A Golfer’s Letter to the Weather This Weekend.

Dear Mother Nature, It’s me, your favorite golfer and avid fan of the Waste Management Open. I’ve got a bone to pick with you, and it’s about time we had a heart-to-heart. You see, yesterday’s tournament was a bit of a washout. The weather decided to be as bad as my swing, and it made…

Dear Mother Nature,

It’s me, your favorite golfer and avid fan of the Waste Management Open. I’ve got a bone to pick with you, and it’s about time we had a heart-to-heart.

You see, yesterday’s tournament was a bit of a washout. The weather decided to be as bad as my swing, and it made for a less than ideal day on the course. Rain, wind – it was like a scene from a disaster movie, minus the CGI and heroic rescues.

So, here’s my humble request: Can we please, pretty please, have a nice weather weekend? Just for a couple of days, let’s put aside the tempestuous tantrums and embrace the sunshine and gentle breezes. Let the birds chirp, the flowers bloom, and the golf balls fly true.

I promise to be on my best behavior and not complain about the occasional sand trap or water hazard. And in return, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacle of a perfectly executed chip shot or a miraculous hole-in-one.

As a dad who lives in the frozen tundra of the North East, a dad that has big plans to avoid his kids and embrace the warmth of his couch this entire weekend. His agenda includes watching golf and the Super Bowl, with a goal of not missing a single swing or tackle. With snacks and beverages at the ready, he’s prepared for a marathon of sports and maybe even a few unexpected naps.

So, what do you say, Mother Nature? Let’s make this weekend one for the record books – a golf tournament where the only drama comes from the players and not the weather forecast.

Sincerely,

All of Golf

P.S. That’s all I’m going to write about today, that’s it, that’s the blog.
